MEDIACRAT Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary
MEDIACRAT turns 10 in September, but the company announced the entire year of 2014 as its anniversary year. This autumn MEDIACRAT will invite its partners and clients to a ‘birthday bash’ to celebrate such a delightful occasion. As for the firm’s employees from all divisions – publishing, event management, and brand development – they have already begun receiving all kinds of presents, from good news to a new office.
“We did not set out to do this purposefully, but events transpired in such a way that on this anniversary year, the company went through very important and very positive structural changes,” says Managing Partner Arman Jilavian. “We will make a proper announcement at the right time, but what I can say now is that MEDIACRAT has become stronger and perhaps, even more profound. We are excited about our work, and what’s really important, we can remain optimistic about our long-term plans in this uneasy market. In fact, it’s just a beginning, and the sky is the limit.”
SPEAR'S Russia Releases Special Issue on Philanthropy
SPEAR’S Russia magazine has expanded the list of its regular topics, adding charity, philanthropy, patronage of arts, and social entrepreneurship. The April issue features a new section that contains interviews with Ruben Vardanian, Irina Prokhorova, Vagit Alekperov, and Dmitry Zimin, and talks about all the most important private and corporate philanthropic initiatives in Russia today.
“At the magazine, we have long kept this topic on the sidelines, in the periphery of our vision, so to speak. Now, I hope it will become as important for us as wealth management itself. Because ‘how to make money’ and ‘how to keep money’ are two questions that many people have already largely found the answers to. What we want to talk about is how to use what you have, how to turn it prolific, and how to change the world around us, even if only a little,” offers Andrei Vdovin, Editor-in-Chief of SPEAR’S Russia, in his opening remarks.
SPEAR’S Russia is the Russian language version of its British namesake, the most trsutworthy and influential magazine for the world’s richest audience.

Alexei Nemov and BOLSHOI Sport to Host ‘Sochi – Moscow – Rio’ Gala Reception
Alexei Nemov, Editor-in-Chief of BOLSHOI Sport, four-time Olympic champion, and member of the Laureus World Sports Academy, will once again invite his friends – famous Russian and international athletes, as well as members of the athletic, political, and business establishment – to ‘Sochi – Moscow – Rio’ gala reception to be held on May 20 at the Vetoshny Art Center in Moscow.
This event will be a logical extension of the reception which Alexei Nemov held last October on the eve of the Sochi Olympic Games. While at the time Nemov and his friends wanted to wish the athletes to be victorious at the upcoming Games, this time they will gather to celebrate the winners, to thank once again all those who made the Sochi Games the most successful Winter Olympics in Russia’s post-Soviet history, and to pass the torch from the winter sports athletes to the summer sports athletes who have already started preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games to be held in Rio de Janeiro.

MEDIACRAT Develops New Packaging Design for Limited-Edition ArArAt Akhtamar Brandy
Commissioned by Pernod Ricard Eastern Europe, MEDIACRAT developed a packaging design for a limited-edition collectible series ArArAt Akhtamar brandy. The release of the vintage was timed to coincide with the 90th anniversary of Sergei Parajanov, a famous Soviet film director, screenwriter, and artist known as the creator of a unique cinematic language.
The design of the Akhtamar brandy packaging features the same visual elements from Parajanov’s principal cinematic experiment – the film The Color of Pomegranates dedicated to the Armenian poet Sayat Nova with the lead role played by Sofiko Chiaureli. Her image became the key design element of the Akhtamar brandy packaging.
The Akhtamar limited-edition collectible series was presented in Moscow at the art show The Color of Pomegranates organized by the Solyanka State Gallery together with the Yerevan’s Sergei Parajanov Museum and supported by ArArAt.
